An FCC commissioner has called on Apple and Google to remove TikTok from their app stores, likening the popular social media platform to a wolf in sheep's clothing. Brendan Carr, the ranking Republican FCC commissioner, on Tuesday penned a letter to Apple CEO   Tim Cook   and Google CEO Sundar Pichai. In the open letter, he urged the companies ban TikTok from their respective app marketplaces because it "harvests swaths of sensitive data" from U.S. users. TikTok, one of the most downloaded apps of 2021 so far, decided to quietly update its privacy policy to collect biometric identifiers and biometric information know in the US as faceprints and voiceprints. The trendy app, owned by the Chinese internet technology company ByteDance, added a new section to its privacy policy called ‘Image and Audio Information.’ With the bold move, the Beijing-based company can now automatically collect those new types of biometric data. According to the updated privacy policy, the data will be used for non-personally-identifying operations such as enabling special video effects, content moderation, demographic classification, and ad recommendations. Radical protesters who had gathered to protest the Supreme Court decision overturning Roe v. Wade were handing out the address of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, according to a new report from the scene. Following the Supreme Court of the United States’ ruling in Dobbs that overturns Roe v. Wade, Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmitt Friday issued an opinion that “triggers” parts of Missouri’s House Bill 126, effectively ending abortion in the State of Missouri.  Missouri is the first state in the country to do so, according to a release from the AG. “Today, following the United States Supreme Court’s ruling that overturned Roe v. Despite not denying its involvement in the Ukrainian laboratories’ cooperation, Washington did not acknowledge that it had conducted biological weapon research there. Now, as per new evidence  fever carrying mosquitoes that were studied in Ukraine biolabs were used to spark dengue pandemic in Cuba . Earlier, the Russian Defense Ministry reported finding documents in confiscated bio labs in Ukraine that showed researchers were testing harmful pathogens with the apparent intention of using them as part of biological weapons.
